How NextSingerUp works
NextSingerUp keeps a karaoke rotation clear for singers and gives the KJ final control.
For singers
- Enter your name, song title, and artist on the KJ’s kiosk. A phone number is optional unless that KJ uses required SMS admission.
- If you choose SMS, review and check the separate consent box. Watch the confirmation screen: required-SMS signups are not in line until delivery is confirmed.
- Use the live lineup and estimated wait as a guide. Estimates combine known song duration, one minute between songs, and elapsed time for the current song. Unknown songs use a four-minute estimate.
- After singing, choose a different next song with the provided link or SMS command. The song you just performed is never reused automatically.
SMS commands
- NEXT "Song Title" "Artist" — save your next song.
- SKIP — miss one next round, then return.
- GOHOME — leave this queue without blocking future texts.
- STOP — opt out of texts and leave the queue.
- START or UNSTOP — allow messages again; then make a new kiosk signup.
- HELP — request help.
For hosts
Configure where new singers enter the next round, decide whether a song-less returning singer is skipped or keeps a place, then start the show. The host screen can advance singers and rounds, edit songs and durations, reorder the lineup, mark a no-show, stop new signups, or end the show.
“Stop signups” preserves the current lineup so the show can finish. “End show” closes active queue sessions and pending notices while retaining completed history.
